Bias, Earthquake, Fire, Poverty, Epidemic and War: The Origin of Radiation Oncology at Mayo Clinic In-Person / Online

Two physicians of vastly different backgrounds and training were invited by Dr. William J. Mayo to found the Section on Radium Therapy (1915) and the Section on Roentgen Therapy (1920).  Eventually, these two Sections would be combined to form what is known today as the Department of Radiation Oncology.  In this session, participants will gain insight into the origin of the specialty of Radiation Oncology in general, and specifically at Mayo Clinic.
