History of Transplantation: Evolution and Innovation in Organ Transplantation at Mayo Clinic In-Person / Online

C. Burcin Taner, M.D. will highlight the evolution of organ transplant practice at Mayo Clinic starting in 1963. By blending historical perspective, current status and plans for intentional investment in innovation, attendees will discover how Mayo Clinic is positioning itself to remain at the forefront of developing treatments for organ failure and technologies on organ replacement.

Dr. Taner is a Professor of Surgery and serves as Chair for the Department of Transplantation at Mayo Clinic in Florida as well as Chair of the Mayo Clinic enterprise Transplant Specialty Counsel. Dr. Taner’s clinical interests are liver, kidney and pancreas transplantation, process improvement, and resource utilization in transplant surgery.
